The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony marks the beginning of the holiday season, bringing Members together beneath the stars and evergreens. As the tree is illuminated, carolers fill the air with familiar songs, encouraging everyone to sing along. Guests sip hot cocoa and nibble on freshly baked cookies while trading stories beside the firepit. It’s a night when traditions, both old and new, remind everyone that home is more than just a place; it’s about creating lasting memories with the people you love. 

New Member Ugly Sweater Holiday Party | The Cliffs at Walnut Cove | December 3

At The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, the holidays are all about connection, with a dash of humor. The annual New Member Ugly Sweater Party blends festive fun with timeless Southern charm. Members old and new gather to toast to the season, showing off their most wonderfully outrageous sweaters while sharing laughter and forming or deepening friendships. Flotilla | The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards | December 6 

The holiday spirit sparkles across the glimmering waters of Keowee Vineyards, where the highly anticipated Flotilla takes place. The annual Flotilla is a beloved tradition that transforms Lake Keowee into a “Christmas Island,” where boats decorated with glowing garlands and festive lights drift along the shoreline. Families gather on docks and decks to watch the illuminated parade, each boat having its own distinct personality. With a hot cider in hand and the lake filled with echoes of laughter, this celebration truly captures the magic of community during the holiday season. 

Holiday Open House, Benefiting Toys for Tots | The Cliffs Valley | December 6 

The Cliffs Valley embodies holiday season generosity. The Holiday Open House, benefiting Toys for Tots, invites members to celebrate with a purpose. Featuring live music, tasty hors d’oeuvres, and a warm glow of giving, neighbors gather to donate new, unwrapped toys for children in need. There’s cookie decorating, a hot chocolate and cider bar, and a visit from Santa himself, radiating festive energy throughout the evening. It’s a night that reminds us that the holidays are as much about giving as they are about celebrating. 

Secret Santa Tennis | The Cliffs at Glassy | December 9 

The holiday cheer at Glassy continues on the courts with Secret Santa Tennis, a spirited event that encourages some friendly competition with festive surprises. Participants of all skill levels enjoy lighthearted matches before exchanging gifts from their “Secret Santa.” Between serves and laughter, it’s a joyous occasion celebrating the season’s camaraderie and reminding everyone at The Cliffs of the love for friendly play and a tight-knit community.
